Premium Web Design On A Budget: How To Save Time & Money PDF Print E-mail
Over the years, we’ve designed thousands of website pages. Working with corporate giants to individual clients, we know they all share the same aspiration – a premium custom web design on a budget produced quickly and professionally.

While that is certainly understandable and possible, we like to save money and time too, there are a few common misconceptions about web design that when clarified will really effect your return on investment (ROI).

We really are here to help you save time and money. In the hopes of that, we are offering a multi-part series of tips.

Be honest about your budget andf your expectations

Be honest about how much money you have budgeted for your website, what you expect your website to do and what return you expect to receive.

You’re not at a car dealership trying to get the best deal. The truth is a Honda bought from dealer A is the same as a Honda bought from dealer B. A Honda is a Honda is a Honda. You are not here to buy a car.

You are buying a website. You are investing in a business tool. Unlike a car, what you get for your money will vary greatly from each creative agency. It’s in our best interest to land your account AND produce a quality website. After all, our name is on the website too.

Sure, we’re here to make money but we’re also here to help you make money. I understand the first instinct to play your budget close and not reveal the numbers, fearing that suddenly your budget is exactly our quoted price. But, that’s not the type of website agency we are. Frankly, you wouldn’t want to deal with an agency that practices that type of manipulation.

We need you to be honest about how much money you have budgeted for your website, what you expect your website to do and what return you expect to receive.

From our experience, it’s rare that all these three are in alignment. Often times, the reality of a budget is superseded by its expectations. Many clients expect bells and whistles on a shoestring budget. It’s not the budget that’s wrong. It’s the expectations. 9 times out of 10, you don’t need those bells and whistles. In fact, they can be distracting to your actual message and goals.

The internet is a visual medium. It’s easy to be seduced and distracted by its “cool features.” However, our industry experience will help you understand how to use these features appropriately to enhance your product not distract from it.

We often get clients who want a website that looks just like Giant Corporation X. When we point out that Giant Corporation X sells high-end luxury automobiles while they are selling a totally unrelated product they are still insistent that it’s possible. However, there is an enormous difference between what is possible and what is appropriate.

“A website’s goal is not to be just cool . . . It needs to create conversions.”Seduced by the siren’s call of bells and whistles, those clients lost the message and the goal. The goal of Giant Corporation X is to sell luxury cars to their demographic. Their website targets a specific audience. If this has happened to you, ask yourself, “Did I buy a luxury car from Giant Corporation X? Or, did I spend countless minutes playing around on the website thinking ‘This is cool! I want my website to look like this!’” If you didn’t buy a luxury car, then the website failed.

A website’s goal is not to be just cool. Your website is a business tool. In order to have an ROI, web sites must generate revenue and real results. It needs to create conversions.

Clients have argued but this website is popular, millions of people are visiting it. To which we reply, “What is the goal of your website?” To be popular or to generate leads and make money. While traffic is important, conversions are more so.

Attitude Grup understands this and a lot more. We have years of experience informing our advice and decisions. We are dedicated to working with you, collaborating, to ensure we get you a custom website that fulfills your actual needs, targets your audience, and creates conversions while adhering to a budget.
